Selling Your Brand via Social Media Marketing

The overnight success of social media has prompted some pundits to regard it as a flash in the pan or a passing fancy. According to statistics, however, 92 percent of marketers in 2014 claimed that social media marketing was important for their business, with 80 percent claiming their efforts increased traffic to their websites.

Increased brand recognition
Every opportunity you have to increase your visibility is valuable. Your social media networks are new channels for your brand’s voice and content. This is important because it makes you easier and more accessible for new customers, while it makes you more familiar and recognizable for existing ones.

Improved brand loyalty
Loyalty, it seems, is a two-way street. According to a university report, brands who engage on social media channels enjoy higher loyalty from their customers, while another study found that Americans who follow brands via social network are more loyal to them.

Higher conversion rates
Social media is a place where brands can act like people do, and this is important because people like doing business with other people--not with companies. The humanizing ways of social media can develop credibility, trust, and ultimately lead to higher conversion rates.

Better Search Engine Rankings

Google and other search engines calculate rankings using social media presence as a factor because strong brands almost always use social media. As such, being active on social media tells search engines that your brand is legitimate, credible, and trustworthy.
